Before & After Sliders (x5)
- There’s more time spent editing off-site than capturing on it.
- In post-production I curate the very best shots, those hardworking hands, the concentrating faces, that unrepeatable moment in time. Then spend days editing every last tiny detail. Use these before & after sliders to view five recent examples, best viewed on a big screen, notice these three stages:
- first, the removal of non-client brands, and many other distractions besides, eliminating competing focal points; for example on the last one, before the slider even reaches the guy on the far right there’s the background ceiling light, adjacent cable, white sign on the red barrier, red triangle on the wall, and the line marker spray can. All gone.
- after this ‘cleaning’ there’s the traditional editing, making numerous +/- adjustments to 50+ parameter's subtly bringing out the subject, pushing back everything else, guiding the viewers eye around the frame. I want instant impact.
- lastly, the verticals must be upright and parallel with the edge of the photo, be it looking straight up, straight ahead or straight down, I like to frame the scene not the subject, so the photo would still look good with no-one in it. This makes it easy on the eye.
